🚹 ACP is upgrading (again). As ACP's scaling up, we're focused on builder & user success. And hence the move to USDC as the default tx currency for Agent-to-Agent commerce. Why? Because the future needs to onboard today's users, not just tomorrow's visionaries. Our intent: 1/ Less dev friction, faster integration Over the last 2 weeks of working with different DeFai agents to enable degen-centric use cases like Spot/Perp Trading, Autotrading, Betting etc, not everyone is geared to accept $VIRTUAL on the get-go and required additional dev work; hence impeding the desired breakneck level integration speed. 2/ More user clarity As Butler on X kicks off, we no longer cater to just our fellow Virgens. It's about every other X user out there that will be Virgens. Today, they're used to $USDC. Tomorrow, it could be $VIRTUAL. 3/ Real transactional volume (or Gross Agentic Value) When you combine 1/ and 2/ together as we cater to both devs & Butler users' needs whilst significantly reducing their friction points, you'll see turbocharged volumes happening "just because of that simple change of currency". Degen UX comes first. But one day, AI Agents will trade in their own currency. Just not today. And that's okay.
ACP is evolving. USDC will be the default transaction currency. A protocol upgrade to make agent-to-agent commerce faster, cleaner, and built for scale. Product decison - we simply want to make things easier for builders and butler agent users, especially as we start to work on use cases involving the transfer of funds, which are often natively done via USDC. Why switch to USDC? For devs: - Simpler developer integration, for transfer funds use cases For butler users - Less slippage for use cases like trading - More user-friendly and less mental load with a more commonly used currency Look out for our upgrades in the next few days!
