Bybit x Mantle Live Recap|Unveiling the Mantle 2.0 Vision: New Advisors, New Domains, and New Vision

On August 14, 2025, Bybit, the world's leading cryptocurrency exchange, and Mantle, an Ethereum Layer2 public chain, held their first joint live broadcast on X, simultaneously announcing the strategic vision of Mantle 2.0 to the global and Chinese-speaking communities, and disclosing the comprehensive cooperation plan between Bybit and Mantle at the ecological, technical, and market levels.

Bybit and Mantle Fully Collaborative Upgrade

At the beginning of the live broadcast, Ben, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Bybit, announced that Bybit Co-CEO Helen and Emily, Head of Bybit Spot & Founder of Byreal, have officially joined Mantle as senior advisors and core contributors.
Ben reflected on Bybit's journey since launching and incubating Mantle (formerly BitDAO) three years ago – one of the world's largest DAO vaults at the time, now with over $1 billion in funding and maintaining high activity and steady growth in the Layer2 track.

He emphasized that the global regulatory environment is improving, with Europe's MiCA framework and stablecoin legislation in the United States signaling a beginning in traditional finance to embrace Web3. Bybit is fully compliant, and the next step is to drive large-scale users into Web3, and Mantle's mission is to "connect Web2 and Web3", and the goals of both parties are highly aligned.

Mantle 2.0 Vision: Institutional-grade liquidity infrastructure

Emily unveiled the brand and strategic positioning of Mantle 2.0 for the first time:

  • Core Identity: Mantle will continue to serve as a "Liquidity Chain", enhancing flexibility and scalability through a modular architecture to maximize on-chain capital efficiency. Undertake the general trend of "tokenization of everything and asset chain";

  • Strategic positioning: Mantle is not an ordinary Layer2, but an institutional-grade infrastructure layer for the next wave of large-scale Web3 adoption, with the goal of becoming the core hub for RWA on-chain;

  • Development direction: While maintaining the advantages of the EVM ecosystem, strengthen interconnection with non-EVM ecosystems (such as Solana) to form a cross-ecological layout.

Helen added in her speech that Mantle will leverage its high-speed and stable infrastructure advantages to attract cross-chain projects and exchanges to cooperate, and form in-depth collaboration with Bybit to introduce more ecological partners to the Mantle chain.

Short-term priorities

Rui, investment director at Hashkey Capital, raised the question of "three fires for new officials". Helen gave three clear priorities:

  1. Maximize Bybit's platform resources to empower Mantle - including fee deductions, more trading pairs, loans, VIP benefits, etc., so that MNT can gain platform-level application value;

  2. Build Mantle into an efficient and stable infrastructure - Undertake RWA tokenization opportunities and distribute high-quality assets through Bybit;

  3. Cross-chain application facilities - Driven by Emily, expand Mantle's interconnection with other ecosystems and attract more users and assets.

Emily added that for the community's most concerned about "how to make money for MNT holders", Mantle will introduce high-quality assets in a targeted manner, combining the liquidity provided by Bybit and market expectations to form profit opportunities. She emphasized that the Mantle chain itself is a product that requires clear target users and matching use cases, rather than "for everyone".

Collaborative implementation: Full-stack integration from trading to payment

MNT token and Mantle application scenarios will be fully integrated into the Bybit ecosystem:

  • Trading scenarios: More MNT trading pairs and MNT options products will be launched. Launched more new structured products such as Smart Leverage, Double Win, and OTC trading.

  • Fees and benefits: Plans to include MNT in fee deductions and VIP level upgrades.

  • Spend and pay: MNT can be used to pay directly for tickets to events such as the CCCC convention; At the same time, MNT will also be connected to payment products such as Bybit Card and Bybit Pay.

  • Institutional and Retail: Provide more MNT-based loans, borrowing, and financial products for institutional and retail users.

Helen emphasized that these enabling measures are all promoted within the compliance framework, including OTC trading support and worry-free leverage in the short term.

RWA Strategy: Institutional-grade asset on-chain channel

RWA will be Mantle's core strategic direction in the next few months. Joshua, the product lead at Mantle Network, emphasized that Mantle's collaboration with Bybit goes far beyond "on-chain × exchanges" and focuses on one of Web3's largest growth tracks – RWAs. The total reachable market of RWAs far exceeds that of other crypto segments, and Mantle's integration into Bybit's infrastructure will provide a secure, compliant, and scalable "track" for institutional-grade assets to be on-chain, introducing new types of liquidity, products, and participants to the on-chain world. In this year's roadmap, the team aims to become the largest ZK security chain in terms of scale, strengthening institutional-level security and strong deterministic settlement capabilities, and providing underlying trust endorsement for RWA and institutional scenarios.

He pointed out that Mantle's existing DApps such as DeFi, NFT, and GameFi can directly benefit from this RWA strategy, combining real-world assets with on-chain products. At the same time, this infrastructure also provides space for new developers to build innovative use cases.

Helen and Emily also stated that Mantle will actively introduce TradFi assets, tokenize them on-chain, and complete distribution through Bybit, a centralized portal, forming a closed loop from asset on-chain - liquidity and product - user reach. This will bring higher quality asset choices and liquidity sources to DeFi and CeFi users.

MNT: Empowerment, Governance, and Supply Mechanism

The team has responded uniformly to token issues of concern to the community:

  • Platform Attributes: MNT is not a Bybit platform currency, but Bybit will empower it in multiple products and scenarios.

  • Supply mechanism: Whether to burn MNT will be decided through DAO proposals and community voting. Previously, BitDAO had burned a large number of tokens when migrating Mantle, and the team was also studying a long-term supply reduction mechanism. Regarding the recent community discussion of OKB burning, Helen responded that Mantle is different from OK, with a wider ecological scope and more opportunities for external cooperation.

  • Incentive quality: The inflation model will be adjusted, the quality of incentive projects will be improved, and MNT will cooperate with high-quality projects to avoid being tied to low-quality projects.

  • Holder Rights: Off-chain can participate in Launchpool, Megadrop, Launchpad and other event products, and on-chain can participate in treasury management through DAO governance and enjoy the utility of more DeFi scenarios.

Differentiated Competition and Developer Opportunities

Rui compared Base's approach to using Coinbase traffic in the Q&A session, and Helen and Emily pointed out that Mantle's competitive barriers lie in the DAO's vault, solid technology, high liquidity and real user base on the exchange, and multi-license compliance advantages. Mantle will gradually make breakthroughs in its areas of expertise, and efficiently collaborate these advantageous resources to attract more high-quality projects to be deployed on the Mantle chain.

At the same time, in order to enhance the attraction and support for developers, the Mantle EcoFund and Grants program will continue to operate, focusing on entrepreneurial teams supporting the RWA direction, relying on Bybit's global user base to bring startup traffic and liquidity support to developers.

Team Goals and Future Outlook

The team will set KPIs in three directions:

  1. public chain level: TVL, number of active addresses, on-chain transaction volume, and new users;

  2. CEX integration: Listings and integration progress of multiple exchanges;

  3. Ecological expansion: On-chain DeFi project growth and cross-ecological influence.

At the end of the live broadcast, Ben concluded, "The cooperation between Mantle and Bybit is a deep collaboration of the whole link, forming a closed loop from asset introduction, product implementation to global user expansion. The team will report regularly and publicly on progress and results, driving Mantle into a new phase of globalization, institutionalization, and large-scale adoption. We also call on the community and developers to actively participate in the construction of Mantle × Bybit infrastructure to seize the long-term growth opportunities brought by RWA and cross-ecosystem collaboration.
